Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Business Development Manager to own the market by developing relationships with general contractors, owners, developers, and design firms, and by managing the pipeline and proposals that convert opportunities into signed testing and inspection work.

You will work with a seller-doer engineer on pricing and technical work, focusing on pipeline development, pre-bid activities, and monthly reporting of results, with base salary plus commission and travel as

Qualifications

5+ years selling professional or technical services to the construction industry.
Existing network of contractors, owners, or design firms in the market.
Disciplined pipeline habits: documented, forecastable, and honest.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain a target list of contractors, owners, developers, and design firms; own relationships end to end.
Track permits, bid boards, and project announcements to pursue work before it is awarded.
Run the pursuit pipeline in the CRM from first contact through proposal, negotiation, and signed agreement.
Coordinate proposals with engineering: scope, pricing, qualifications, and follow-up.
Represent the company at industry associations, pre-bid meetings, and client events; report pipeline monthly.
