Job summary

Vaco Recruiter Services is seeking an experienced Contract Billing Specialist for a Costa Mesa, CA opportunity. The role owns the full billing lifecycle in a construction-focused environment, partnering with Project Managers and General Contractors to drive accurate progress billings and healthy cash flow.

Qualifications include 4+ years in construction or contract billing, strong AIA, SOVs, change orders, retainage and lien waivers, plus proficiency in Excel and ERP systems.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of construction billing, project accounting, or contract billing experience.
• Strong experience with: AIA Billing, Stored Materials Billing, SOVs, Change Orders, Payment Applications, Retainage & Lien Waivers.
• Experience working with General Contractors and Project Managers.
• Proficient in Excel and ERP/accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage AIA billing, progress billings, stored materials billing, and payment applications.
• Prepare and maintain Schedule of Values (SOVs), change orders, retainage, and lien waivers.
• Review contracts and ensure compliance with billing requirements.
• Work closely with Project Managers, General Contractors, and internal teams to support project billing and cash flow.
• Manage contractor billing platforms such as Procore, Textura, GC Pay, Levelset, or similar systems.
• Support billing reporting, reconciliations, and collections efforts.

Key Responsibilities
