Job summary

HireIQ on Long Island seeks a hands-on Construction Billing / Project Accountant to own AIA billing, progress billing, change orders, retainage and project reconciliations for our commercial projects.

You will work closely with Project Managers and operations, manage multiple active projects, and ensure billing aligns with contracts and milestones. This is a stable, full-time role with room to grow within construction accounting.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in a project-based construction environment.
• Experience with AIA billing, SOVs and progress billing.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage AIA G702/G703 payment applications and progress billing.
• Maintain schedules of values and ensure billing aligns with project contracts and milestones.
• Process and track change orders, retainage and lien waiver documentation.
• Reconcile project billing, payments and outstanding balances.
• Work directly with Project Managers to resolve billing discrepancies and obtain required backup.
• Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding project payments.
• Maintain accurate project, contract and billing documentation.
• Support job-cost reporting, project reconciliations and general accounting requirements.
• Assist with client portals and project-specific billing requirements where required.
