Job summary

Superior, Cedar Rapids, IA, is seeking a Construction Assistant Project Manager to support electrical construction projects on-site. You will assist with contracting, scheduling, estimating, bidding and contract administration to keep operations efficient.

Requirements include at least 1 year of field/project experience on a commercial site or a related degree/certificate; OSHA 10/30 is a bonus. Full-time on-site role with competitive pay.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage RFIs and ensure integration into project documentation.
• Coordinate with vendors on the submittal process lifecycle.
• Support change order creation, submission, and management.
• Capture progress by updating contract docs and photographing site.
• Monitor schedule and report to leadership.
• Assist Foreman with materials delivery.
• Lead project close-out, including warranties and as-builts.

Description

Position: Assistant Project Manager

Reports to: Project Manager

Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Pay Range: $60,000 - $110,000

We consider several factors when preparing a compensation package for successful candidates.

Superior and our tri-venture, CST, are looking for an Assistant Project Manager to help drive our electrical construction projects forward. The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for helping make operations on-site more efficient and will play a key role in our contracting, scheduling, estimating, bidding, and contract administration functions. This role is based on a jobsite in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and will be a member of Superior's Project Operations team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the creation and submission of RFI’s and ensure that all RFI’s are integrated into project documentation
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers on the lifecycle of the project submittal process
• Support with the creation, submission, and management of change orders
• Capture the progress of our work by updating contract documents and photographing the jobsite
• Monitor the project schedule and provide ongoing updates to Project Operations and Field Operations leadership
• Work closely with the Foreman on delivery of materials and equipment to the jobsite
• Lead project close-out, including documentation, warranties, waivers, as-builds, and attic stock
• Develop an understanding of project finance, working closely with Project Operations and Finance leadership

Your Expertise

• Required: You have at least 1 year of field or project experience on a commercial construction site (including relevant internship experience), or a degree in Construction Systems Management, Engineering, or a related field — or a Construction Management certificate
• Bonus Points: You have prior experience supporting commercial construction projects in a Project Operations role
• Bonus Points: You hold an active OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
