Job summary

Superior is hiring an on-site Construction Assistant Project Manager in Cedar Rapids, IA. This role supports project operations, helps manage RFI, submittals, change orders, and onsite documentation, and works closely with the Project Manager and Foreman to keep schedules and deliveries on track.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of commercial construction experience or a Construction Systems Management degree, and OSHA 10/30 certification is a bonus.

Qualifications

• 1 year of field or project experience on a commercial construction site (or relevant internship)
• Active OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus
• Degree or certificate in Construction Management or related field

Responsibilities

• Manage the creation and submission of RFI’s and ensure integration into project documentation
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers on the project submittal process
• Support creation, submission, and management of change orders
• Capture progress by updating contract documents and photographing the jobsite
• Monitor the project schedule and provide updates to leadership
• Work with the Foreman on delivery of materials and equipment to the jobsite
• Lead project close-out, including documentation, warranties, waivers, as-builds
• Develop understanding of project finance with operations and finance teams

Description

Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Pay Range: $60,000 - $110,000

Superior and our tri-venture, CST, are looking for an Assistant Project Manager to help drive our electrical construction projects forward. The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for helping make operations on-site more efficient and will play a key role in our contracting, scheduling, estimating, bidding, and contract administration functions. This role is based on a jobsite in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and will be a member of Superior's Project Operations team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the creation and submission of RFI’s and ensure that all RFI’s are integrated into project documentation
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers on the lifecycle of the project submittal process
• Support with the creation, submission, and management of change orders
• Capture the progress of our work by updating contract documents and photographing the jobsite
• Monitor the project schedule and provide ongoing updates to Project Operations and Field Operations leadership
• Work closely with the Foreman on delivery of materials and equipment to the jobsite
• Lead project close-out, including documentation, warranties, waivers, as-builds, and attic stock
• Develop an understanding of project finance, working closely with Project Operations and Finance leadership

Your Expertise

• Required: You have at least 1 year of field or project experience on a commercial construction site (including relevant internship experience), or a degree in Construction Systems Management, Engineering, or a related field — or a Construction Management certificate
• Bonus Points: You have prior experience supporting commercial construction projects in a Project Operations role
• Bonus Points: You hold an active OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
