Job summary

The Superior Group seeks a Construction Assistant Project Manager to support on-site electrical construction projects in Detroit, Michigan. You will assist in contracting, scheduling, estimating, bidding, and contract administration, reporting to the Project Manager, and coordinating with foremen and vendors.

Applicants should have at least 1 year of field experience or a related degree, plus OSHA certification.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of field or project experience on a commercial construction site (including internships).
• Active OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
• Degree or certificate in construction-related fields as specified.

Responsibilities

• Manage the creation and submission of RFI’s and ensure they are integrated into project documentation.
• Coordinate with vendors on the lifecycle of the project submittal process.
• Support the creation, submission, and management of change orders.
• Capture progress of work by updating contract documents and photographing the jobsite.
• Monitor the project schedule and provide updates to leadership.
• Work with the Foreman on delivery of materials and equipment to the site.
• Lead project close-out, including documentation, warranties, waivers, as-builts, and attic stock.
• Develop understanding of project finance with Operations and Finance leadership.

Description

Position: Assistant Project Manager
Reports to: Project Manager
Location: Detroit, Michigan
Pay Range: $65,000 - $110,000
We consider several factors when preparing a compensation package for successful candidates.
Superior is looking for an Assistant Project Manager to help drive our electrical construction projects forward. The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for helping make operations on-site more efficient and will play a key role in our contracting, scheduling, estimating, bidding, and contract administration functions. This role is based on a jobsite in Detroit, Michigan.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the creation and submission of RFI’s and ensure that all RFI’s are integrated into project documentation
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers on the lifecycle of the project submittal process
• Support with the creation, submission, and management of change orders
• Capture the progress of our work by updating contract documents and photographing the jobsite
• Monitor the project schedule and provide ongoing updates to Project Operations and Field Operations leadership
• Work closely with the Foreman on delivery of materials and equipment to the jobsite
• Lead project close-out, including documentation, warranties, waivers, as-builds, and attic stock
• Develop an understanding of project finance, working closely with Project Operations and Finance leadership

Your Expertise

• Required: You have at least 1 year of field or project experience on a commercial construction site (including relevant internship experience), or a degree in Construction Systems Management, Engineering, or a related field — or a Construction Management certificate
• Bonus Points: You have prior experience supporting commercial construction projects in a Project Operations role
• Bonus Points: You hold an active OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
