Job summary

The Superior Group in Iowa is seeking a Construction Assistant Project Manager to support electrical construction projects on-site in Cedar Rapids, IA. The role reports to the Project Manager and involves scheduling, bidding, and contract administration.

Based on a jobsite in Cedar Rapids, the Assistant Project Manager will help drive operations forward, coordinate with field and operations teams, and contribute to project documentation and close-out activities.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of field or project experience on a commercial construction site.
• Alternatively, a degree in Construction Systems Management, Engineering, or a related field, or a Construction Management certificate.
• Bonus: prior experience supporting commercial construction projects in a Project Operations role.
• Bonus: active OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.

Responsibilities

• Manage the creation and submission of RFIs and ensure that all RFIs are integrated into project documentation
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers on the lifecycle of the project submittal process
• Support with the creation, submission, and management of change orders
• Capture the progress of our work by updating contract documents and photographing the jobsite
• Monitor the project schedule and provide ongoing updates to Project Operations and Field Operations leadership
• Work closely with the Foreman on delivery of materials and equipment to the jobsite
• Lead project close-out, including documentation, warranties, waivers, as-builds, and attic stock
• Develop an understanding of project finance, working closely with Project Operations and Finance leadership

Description

Superior and our tri-venture, CST, are looking for an Assistant Project Manager to help drive our electrical construction projects forward. The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for helping make operations on-site more efficient and will play a key role in our contracting, scheduling, estimating, bidding, and contract administration functions. This role is based on a jobsite in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and will be a member of Superior's Project Operations team.

Key Responsibilities

• Required: You have at least 1 year of field or project experience on a commercial construction site (including relevant internship experience), or a degree in Construction Systems Management, Engineering, or a related field — or a Construction Management certificate
• Bonus Points: You have prior experience supporting commercial construction projects in a Project Operations role
• Bonus Points: You hold an active OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
