Gorman & Company is recruiting a Construction Assistant for Midtown Commons in Milwaukee, a 200-unit multifamily development in two 100-unit phases with completion expected mid-2028. The role supports the Field Superintendent and performs hands-on field work outdoors.

You will help with material handling, layout verifications, safety inspections, documentation, and general labor to keep the project moving forward. A high school diploma or GED is required, and a strong work ethic is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic construction math.
• Good communication and teamwork; positive, dependable attitude.
• Willingness to perform physical outdoor work in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Field Superintendent with daily construction activities and general labor.
• Maintain a clean, organized jobsite, manage housekeeping and site security.
• Receive, inspect, organize, and track material deliveries; keep inventory records.
• Support measurements, layout verifications, quantity tracking, and field tasks.
• Support safety inspections and ensure proper PPE usage; report unsafe conditions.
• Document progress with photos, help prepare punch lists, protect work, and organize tools.

Join our team as a Construction Assistant at Midtown Commons!Gorman & Company is seeking a Construction Assistant to support the construction team at Midtown Commons, a 200-unit multifamily development in Milwaukee, WI, consisting of two 100-unit phases with completion anticipated in mid-2028. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, staying active, learning construction skills, and helping keep a jobsite safe, clean, and organized.
