Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Construction Administration Architect in Washington, DC for a permanent, hybrid role. The Architect will lead on-site construction administration, coordinate with design and field teams, and ensure conformance with contract documents.

The position requires 8+ years in architecture, strong Revit skills, and experience with multifamily or commercial projects. The successful candidate will conduct site visits, manage RFIs and submittals, and mentor junior staff while

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture.
• 8+ years of professional architectural experience.
• Proven experience leading project teams through design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.
• Strong background in multifamily, mixed-use, urban infill, commercial, or large-scale base building projects.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit, including Revit Architecture.
• Experience with construction drawings and architectural design for complex building types.
• Experience with Bluebeam and other project documentation tools.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, permitting processes, and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all construction administration activities from permit issuance through project closeout.
• Serve as the primary architectural point of contact for contractors, owners, consultants, and project stakeholders during construction.
• Conduct regular site visits and field observations to monitor construction progress and conformance with contract documents.
• Prepare detailed field reports documenting site observations, progress, and issues.
• Review RFIs and coordinate with PMs and design teams.
• Review and approve submittals, shop drawings, data, samples, and mockups.
• Evaluate change orders and substitutions; coordinate resolutions.
• Collaborate with contractors and consultants to resolve field conditions.
• Coordinate responses with structural, MEP, civil, and specialty consultants.
• Assist clients in understanding construction-related issues, risks, and progress.
• Support punch lists, substantial completion, and closeout activities.
• Maintain thorough project documentation and records throughout the project.
• Monitor construction quality and ensure adherence to design standards.
• Interpret documents and provide guidance on architectural details and building systems.
• Identify risks and develop solutions to minimize delays and costs.
• Communicate construction issues with PMs and design teams and implement resolutions.
• Build strong relationships with clients and contractors through proactive communication.
