Job summary

Killian Construction Co. is seeking an Accountant to support our growing accounting team in Southwest Missouri. You will manage accounts payable, assist with general accounting, and maintain accurate records for our construction projects.

You will collaborate with the Controller, Project Managers, and vendors to ensure timely invoices, proper coding, and weekly incentive processing. Experience in construction accounting and job costing is preferred.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of accounting or accounts payable experience preferred.
• Construction industry accounting experience preferred, particularly with job costing, subcontractor payments, and purchase orders.
• Working knowledge of general ledger accounting and accounts payable processes.
• Experience with accounting software; construction accounting software experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner, matching to purchase orders and receiving documents.
• Prepare vendor payments and process batch checks, wires, and ACH transactions.
• Maintain vendor records, reconcile statements, and monitor AP aging.
• Support month-end/year-end closing, GL maintenance, and financial reporting.
