Job summary

Hourigan is seeking a collaborative, energetic Accounting Specialist to join our team in either Virginia Beach or Richmond. The role reports to the Accounting Manager and covers AP/AR, subcontract payments, and audit preparation.

Required is a Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or finance with 2–5 years of experience, plus proficiency in accounting software and MS Office. Travel may be required, and a strong attention to detail is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or finance required.
• 2–5 years of accounting or finance experience preferred.
• Proficiency with accounting software and MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Process monthly subcontractor payment applications and disburse payments.
• Process subcontract agreements and change order management.
• Ensure vendors and subcontractors are compliant with required documentation.
• Assist with annual 1099 processing and year-end audit.
