Job summary

Lifecycle Management in Richmond, VA seeks an Accounting Specialist to handle AP, subcontractor billing, credit card reviews, and AR, with potential progression to Staff Accountant as automation expands. The role focuses on transaction review, accuracy, compliance, and general ledger tasks within an in-office setting.

You will work with Acumatica and Excel, support month-end close, and participate in continuous improvements to AI-driven accounting workflows.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, AP, or related experience.
• Solid understanding of debits/credits, journal entries, GL, and reconciliations.
• Construction accounting experience (AIA/SOV billing, retainage, lien waivers) preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem solving.
• Proficiency with Excel and ERP systems; Acumatica experience is a plus.
• Comfortable learning and working with AI and automated accounting tools.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve vendor and subcontractor invoices in Acumatica with correct coding.
• Review subcontractor billings, AIA payments, SOVs, retainage, changes, and balances.
• Verify lien waivers and compliance docs prior to payment.
• Coordinate with PMs, Compliance, vendors, and subs to resolve issues.
• Prepare biweekly payment runs and respond to payment inquiries.
• Review and approve company credit card transactions with supporting docs.
• Process customer invoices and assist with AR activity.
• Review daily cash activity, clear transactions, record bank fees/interest.
• Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, assist month-end close.
• Support improvements to AI-assisted accounting processes and workflows.
