Job summary

Clark Construction Group, LLC is seeking an experienced accounting professional to lead revenue recognition, AR, cash, and compliance activities for construction projects. The role includes supervising 1–2 accountants and ensuring timely financial reporting and audit readiness.

Responsibilities encompass policy development, internal controls, technical accounting research, and collaboration with the Accounting Director on IT and process-improvement initiatives to support multiple active project

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Accounting or Finance with at least 4 years of progressive related work experience; CPA preferred
• Familiarity with accounting processes and generally accepted accounting principles and controls
• Highly proficient with Microsoft Office
• Experience leading project based initiatives for cross-functional teams; relationship builder
• Experience with Hyperion and Oracle tools a plus
• Strong service orientation and team player
• Initiative, responsibility, integrity and collaboration are valued
• Positive attitude, flexible with high energy and enthusiasm
• Able to grasp new concepts quickly and understand complex data relationships
• Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise revenue, accounts receivable, cash, and compliance accounting for construction activities
• Prepare year-end and preliminary audit schedules and footnote disclosures for external auditors
• Develop and enforce policies and procedures for strong internal controls
• Document processes to ensure GAAP compliance and DCAA timelines
• Provide technical accounting research on revenue recognition guidance
• Manage one to two accountants while contributing as an individual
• Prepare and review monthly journal entries for construction accounting and consolidation
• Oversee setup and closeout of construction jobs, report on active jobs, purge completed jobs
• Collaborate with Accounting Director on project plans for IT/business initiatives
• Lead cross-functional teams on Master Data, General Ledger, and Cash Management/AR projects
• Document end-user requirements and train users on new tools
• Identify areas to streamline reporting for internal/external stakeholders
• Provide accounting support for new business lines and departmental initiatives
