Job summary

Clark Construction Group in McLean, VA is seeking an experienced accounting professional to lead revenue recognition, manage construction accounting, and strengthen internal controls. You will supervise 1-2 accountants, prepare journal entries, and collaborate with the Accounting Director on IT initiatives.

The role requires GAAP expertise, strong analytical skills, and the ability to drive process improvements across the department in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Accounting or Finance with 4+ years progressive experience; CPA preferred.
• Familiarity with GAAP and internal controls.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead year-end and preliminary audit schedules and footnote disclosures for revenue recognition.
• Manage accounting for Revenue, AR, Cash, and Compliance relating to construction activities.
• Develop and enforce policies to strengthen internal controls.
• Document accounting processes to ensure GAAP and DCAA compliance.
• Perform technical accounting research on revenue recognition for construction activities.
• Supervise 1–2 accountants and review monthly journal entries.
• Oversee construction job setup/closeout and reporting on active jobs.
• Collaborate with Accounting Director on IT/business initiatives.
• Lead cross-functional projects for Master Data, GL, and Cash/AR.
• Train end-users and test new tools to automate data entry.
