Job summary

SteveRecruiter, LLC is seeking an Accounting Manager for a hands-on, project-based role in the commercial construction sector. You will lead a small accounting team, own the month-end close, manage AP/AR, and provide project-focused financial reporting on-site in Stockbridge, GA.

This is a growth-driven environment reporting to the owner. The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of accounting experience, strong QuickBooks Online expertise, and a track record in project costing and process improvement.

Qualifications

• Approximately 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong QuickBooks Online experience.
• Prior experience supervising or leading accounting staff.
• Strong understanding of AP, AR, reconciliations, GL, cash flow and financial reporting.
• Construction/project accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Highly tech-savvy and comfortable adopting new software and systems.
• Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills.
• Hands-on, organized and able to work with entrepreneurial ownership.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations and a three-person accounting team.
• Manage month-end close, general ledger and reconciliations.
• Oversee AP, AR, collections and customer billing.
• Prepare and review financial statements and management reporting.
• Monitor cash flow and prepare short-term cash-flow forecasts.
• Strengthen job-costing and project-accounting processes.
• Develop and maintain accounting controls.
• Support budgeting and forecasting with the owner.
• Collaborate with project managers and coordinators.
• Identify opportunities to automate and improve accounting processes.
• Coordinate with outside CPA and financial partners.
