Job summary

A growing, privately held, owner-led company in commercial construction seeks a hands-on Accounting Manager to lead its accounting operations and manage a three-person team on-site in Stockbridge, GA. The role partners closely with ownership and project staff in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years of accounting experience, strong QuickBooks Online, and a hands-on approach to process improvement and reporting. Experience with project accounting is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience supervising or leading accounting staff.
• Construction, specialty contracting, installation or other project/job-cost accounting experience preferred.
• Strong QuickBooks Online experience.
• Tech-savvy and comfortable adopting new software and systems.
• Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee day-to-day accounting operations and a three-person accounting team.
• Manage month-end close, general ledger and account reconciliations.
• Oversee AP, AR, collections and customer billing.
• Prepare and review financial statements and management reporting.
• Monitor cash flow and prepare short-term cash-flow forecasts.
• Strengthen job-costing and project-accounting processes.
• Develop and maintain appropriate accounting controls.
• Support budgeting and forecasting with the owner.
• Work closely with project managers and project coordinators.
• Identify opportunities to automate, streamline and improve accounting processes.
• Coordinate with outside CPA and other financial partners.
