Job summary

Legence in Albuquerque, NM seeks an Accounting Manager to lead the accounting team in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and internal controls. You will oversee AP, AR, and billing, act as vendor liaison, and ensure SOX compliance and accurate financial reporting.

The role reports to the Controller and requires strong leadership, CPA/degree credentials, and experience with Sage 300 within a construction/new-build environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Accounting, or related field, or 5 years' equivalent experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Sage 300 Applications.
• Knowledge of construction industry practices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee AP/AR personnel; drive improved processes to meet goals.
• Monitor DSO and DPO; improve collections and cash use; manage aging.
• Provide daily AP oversight; serve as vendor contact and decision maker.
• Oversee vendor management and compliance; manage vendor setup.
• Review administrative accounts for accuracy and tracking.
• Ensure accurate job costing related to AP.
• Manage credit card and p-card programs; reconcile statements.
• Review weekly cash flow forecast; manage short-term cash.
• Act as bank approver for payments with Controller.
• Oversee billing team for compliance and updates to processes.
• Supervise SOX compliance and bridge operations communications.
• Manage Sage 300 postings and month-end close.
• Manage vendor contracts as needed.
• Suggest improvements to accounting processes.
