Talent Edge Recruiting is partnering with a private construction company in Indianapolis to hire an Accounting Manager who will own the accounting function from day one. The role requires rolling up your sleeves to build structure, improve processes, and partner with leadership.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of job costing, WIP reporting, and percentage of completion accounting.
• Experience using QuickBooks Enterprise.
• Comfortable being a one-person accounting department.
• High level of organization and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Own the day-to-day accounting function from start to finish.
• Manage month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, GL, AP/AR oversight, and cash flow.
• Lead all construction accounting activities including job costing, WIP reporting, and revenue recognition.
• Collaborate with operations and project teams to ensure project profitability.
• Develop better processes, reporting, and internal controls as the company scales.
• Work with external CPAs on tax and year-end activities.
• Help build the accounting infrastructure for growth.

What You'll Do

• Own the day-to-day accounting function from start to finish
• Manage month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, general ledger, AP/AR oversight, and cash flow
• Lead all construction accounting activities including:
• Job Costing
• Work-in-Progress (WIP) Reporting
• Revenue Recognition
• Partner closely with operations and project teams to ensure project profitability
• Develop better processes, reporting, and internal controls as the company continues to scale
• Collaborate with external CPA partners on tax and year-end activities
• Help build the accounting infrastructure for the next stage of company growth

What We're Looking For
