Job summary

Morgan Hunter is seeking a senior accounting leader in Kansas to own the monthly close, financial reporting, and project accounting for construction projects. You will oversee WIP, job costing, revenue recognition, and progress billings while guiding payroll processes and a Project Accountant.

You will collaborate with senior leadership to improve controls, reporting, and efficiency, applying construction accounting best practices to drive strategic financial decisions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems.
• Strong construction accounting background.
• Managerial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close and financial reporting.
• Oversee WIP, job costing, revenue recognition, and project accounting.
• Review progress billings and lien waivers.
• Assist with cash flow forecasting, banking, and financial reporting.
• Oversee payroll and related accounting processes.
• Manage a Project Accountant.
• Improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting.
• Identify opportunities to increase efficiency and introduce construction accounting best practices.
