Job summary

MEJA Construction is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Construction Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting. The role reports to the Controller and interfaces with the CPA, aiming to grow toward the Controller position.

The candidate will oversee accounts payable, vendor management, GL activities, tax coordination, and audit support within a construction-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Construction accounting or project-based accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with Sage Intacct, Procore, Titanium, or comparable accounting/construction systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage day-to-day accounting operations and payable processing.
• Coordinate monthly close, journal entries, accruals, and financial reporting.
• Support tax, audits, and compliance activities.
• Assist with WIP, job-cost accounting, and project reporting in Sage Intacct/Procore.
• Ensure accurate vendor records and payment processing.

Skills

3-5 years accounting experience

Construction accounting experience

Sage Intacct / Procore familiarity

Education

Associate degree in Accounting/related field

Bachelor's degree preferred
