A well-established construction firm is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and support financial decision‑making across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction accounting, project‑based financial reporting, and demonstrated leadership abilities to manage a small accounting team.

Base pay range

$100,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr

Description
  • Manage all general accounting functions, including AR, AP, GL, and payroll.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes; prepare financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
  • Manage contract billing, change orders, and retention tracking.
  • Coordinate with external auditors on annual audits and tax filings.
  • Monitor cash flow and assist with financial forecasting.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor accounting staff.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls and accounting procedures.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Review and analyze job cost and billing data to verify accuracy and process project billing.
  • Prepare Work‑in‑Progress (WIP) reports.
Profile
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Accounting or Business Administration.
  • 7-10 years of relevant accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a management or supervisory capacity.
  • Prior construction accounting experience is required.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, Adobe Acrobat, and industry‑specific software (e.g., Sage 300 CRE, Procore, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of job costing, billing cycles, and WIP reporting.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
