Job summary

Herbst Electric, a subsidiary of The State Group, is seeking an Accounting Coordinator in Cleveland, Ohio. This role supports AIA billings, T&M invoices, and month-end close, ensuring accuracy and contract compliance.

With 3+ years in accounting and construction experience preferred, you will leverage Excel and math skills to keep billing precise and projects on track. Collaborating with project managers, operations, and finance, you’ll resolve discrepancies, monitor schedules, and maintain

• 3+ years of accounting or relevant experience.
• Experience in the construction industry is required.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong math skills and excellent organizational and communication abilities.
• Commitment to teamwork and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and process AIA billings and Time & Material invoices.
• Monitor billing schedules and contract requirements; ensure timely submission.
• Reconcile expense reports, credit cards, billings, and monthly statements; resolve discrepancies.
• Respond to customer billing inquiries and collaborate with PMs, operations, and finance.
• Assist with month-end billing close processes and revenue-related support.
• Track outstanding invoices and assist with collections as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of customer accounts and project documentation.
• Train and guide other team members as needed.
• Complete various projects throughout the year.
