Job summary

South Texas HMA & Construction in Baytown, TX is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to support daily accounting operations, including A/P, A/R, and general ledger activities. This full-time, office-based role collaborates with vendors, customers, and internal teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, 1–3 years in accounting or related roles, proficiency with Excel and ERP/accounting software, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree preferred in accounting, finance or related field.
• 1–3 years accounting experience preferred.
• Construction/industrial experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely payments.
• Assist with accounts receivable including invoicing and posting payments.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation.
• Perform month-end close activities and account reconciliations.
• Enter financial data into accounting systems and verify accuracy.
• Process employee expense reports according to policy.
• Prepare and distribute financial and operational reports.
• Assist with audit requests and provide supporting documentation.
• Respond to vendor, customer, and internal inquiries regarding transactions.
