Ledgent's Houston-area client is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join a collaborative accounting team. This temp-to-hire role handles invoicing, vendor communication, payments, and month-end close support in a high-volume environment.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years AP experience, strong Excel skills, and a meticulous attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; associate degree preferred.
• At least 2 years of accounts payable experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Detail-oriented with accuracy.
• Experience in a manual accounts payable environment.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Review and process invoices with proper GL coding and approvals.
• Enter high-volume invoices from multiple locations.
• Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve discrepancies.
• Process weekly check runs, wire transfers, and positive pay uploads.
• Maintain vendor records and monitor daily banking activity including ACH.
• Assist with audits, intercompany reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Provide AP support as needed.
