Job summary

TGG, a well-established construction company in Indianapolis, seeks an Accounting Manager to bring accounting in-house, manage month-end close, and drive project-level financials. The role collaborates with PMs, estimators, and operations to support growth and accurate reporting.

Responsible for job costing, AIA billing, and cash flow management, with a focus on improving systems and workflows as the company scales. Onsite, Monday–Friday, with a strong benefits package and bonus program.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, including construction accounting.
• Hands-on experience with job costing and WIP accounting.
• Experience with AIA billing / percentage-of-completion billing.
• Strong AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations, and financial statement experience.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks; Procore experience a plus.
• Degree or equivalent hands-on experience accepted.
• Candidates must have prior construction accounting and job costing/WIP experience.
• Background check and drug screening required as a condition of employment.
• This is an onsite position and is not eligible for remote or hybrid work.

Job Title: Accounting Manager – Construction (Job Costing & WIP)

Location: Indianapolis, IN - Castleton area (Onsite)

Pay Rate: $100,000 – $120,000/year base + annual performance bonus

A well-established, commercial construction company — in business for 40+ years and still family-led — is growing and adding this role to keep up with increased revenue.

Right now, accounting is split three ways: an operations team handling AP/AR, an offsite bookkeeper, and an outside CPA firm.

The goal of this role is to bring accounting in-house, maintain monthly financials long-term, and grow as the company grows!

What you'll own:

• Full-cycle accounting: AP, AR, general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close
• Job costing, WIP (work-in-progress) accounting, and project-level financials across commercial construction jobs (manufacturing, education, and healthcare facilities)
• AIA billing, percentage-of-completion revenue recognition, collections, and lien releases
• Cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting
• Weekly payroll review and approval for a 60-person team (processed in-house)
• Partnership with the outside CPA firm on taxes, audits, and financial reporting
• Direct collaboration with Project Managers, Estimators, Operations, customers, and vendors
• Process improvement — modernizing systems, reporting, and workflows as the company scales

Software you'll work in:

QuickBooks & Procore

• Base salary: $100,000 – $120,000, based on experience
• Bonus: Annual performance bonus (recent employee bonus: $12,000)
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with flexibility for occasional after-hours work during month-end close
• Health Insurance: Company pays 50% of premium; eligible Day 1; dental and vision included
• 401(k): Eligible after 6 months, with a 4% company match

Requirements

• Strong communicator who can work cross-functionally with customers, vendors, leadership, and internal teams
• Degree or equivalent hands-on experience accepted
• Candidates must have prior construction accounting and job costing/WIP experience to be considered for this role.
