Job summary

MAAS is seeking a detail-oriented construction administrator/manager to support design and pre-construction for major educational projects in California. You will review drawings, define scope and schedule, and propose value engineering ideas at design inception to control costs without compromising functions.

You will verify alignment among architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical trades, performing a full constructability review before bid documents are issued, and work closely

Qualifications

• 15 years of full-time paid experience with a bachelor's degree in architecture, with 10 years as a Construction Administrator on public or school construction projects and 5 years as a Designer.
• Projects must be worth $8 million+ each, or $80 million+ added together.
• Or, without a degree, 15 years as Project Superintendent or Project Manager on public, school, or large commercial construction with ownership of coordinating complex projects, valued >$30 million each or >$400 million total.

Responsibilities

• Review project scope and schedule, including interim housing needs.
• Value engineering at the start of design.
• Provide written comments on drawings to reduce questions and paid changes later.
• Ensure all design disciplines (architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical) align.
• Conduct a full constructability review before bidding.
• Collaborate with the Design Manager and Owner's Authorized Representative.
