Heritage Auctions in Beverly Hills seeks a Consignment Director of Music to evaluate property, secure consignments, and drive business in the Music category. You will build relationships with clients, manage authentication, and lead marketing efforts for musical collectibles.

The role requires 8+ years in the music industry or high-value collectibles, with strong negotiation and sales skills. Travel to meet clients and participate in auctions is expected. EOE.

SUMMARY:

As the Consignment Director of Music, you will play a pivotal role in evaluating property, securing consignments, building relationships, and driving business in our Music category. This dynamic position requires exceptional industry knowledge, a proactive attitude, and a commitment to providing outstanding client service.

COMPENSATION:

$75K+ Commensurate based on experience

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Evaluate the property and establish auction estimates.
• Acquire consignments through HA and individually generated leads.
• Research, authenticate, and catalog property.
• Proof catalog text and images, press releases, consignment and bidding emails, and advertising copy
• Market lots in auctions for various clients.
• Contribute to the expansion of the client database.
• Answer inquiries before, during, and after the auction.
• Travel as needed to meet with clients and review the property for potential consignment.
• Actively participate in auctions.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• 8+ years of experience in the music industry, auctions, or high-value collectibles.
• Proven expertise in appraising and valuing music-related items, with an understanding of authentication processes.
• Established network of clients, collectors, and music industry professionals.
• Strong negotiation and sales skills, with a track record of meeting or exceeding revenue goals.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing catalog entries and marketing copy.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Passion for music history and collectibles, coupled with a dedication to providing top-tier client service.
