Job summary

Appalachian Conservation Corps seeks an AmeriCorps Crew Leader to guide a six-to-eight person crew on conservation projects in Ohio and nearby sites. You will supervise field work, coordinate logistics, and ensure safety while mentoring members in hands-on learning and service.

The role emphasizes leadership, teamwork, and dedication to stewardship, with field duties in varying weather and environments. Training and development are provided.

Qualifications

• Strong project management skills.
• Physically fit and able to work long days in adverse conditions.
• Experience with backpacking, wilderness living and travel.
• Current Wilderness First Aid Certification with CPR/AED.
• US Citizenship or Legal Permanent Residency status; high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Train and motivate a crew of six to eight young adults to complete conservation projects efficiently on public lands.
• Delegate project work among ACL and crew; manage on-the-ground quality of work.
• Communicate with project partners, staff crew leader, members, and ACC staff.
• Monitor safety, promote a culture of safety, and transport crew safely.
