Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Remote RN for our Virtual Resource Center. The role involves handling inbound and outbound calls from hospitals, patients, providers, and consumers, using the nursing process to assess and respond to patient needs.

The RN will follow CHI Health protocols to provide accurate information and act as a consumer advocate. To be considered, candidates must reside in the Omaha metro area/Council Bluffs and hold an active RN license with BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Current RN license that allows practice in the state
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required

Responsibilities

• Handle inbound/outbound calls with patients, providers, and consumers.
• Apply nursing process to collect data and make informed nursing judgments.
• Follow protocols approved by CHI Health to provide patient information.
• Act as consumer advocate, addressing needs and concerns.
• Adhere to medication refill and protocol guidelines.
• Meet quality benchmarks for patient accounts and nursing documentation.
• Maintain adherence to scheduled call center shifts.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Connection Center Virtual RN at the Virtual Resource Center uses telephone and computer interaction facilitating inbound and outbound communications from hospitals, patients, providers and consumers.

This position will be remote - MUST living within the Omaha Metro / Council Bluffs location to be considered for the role. Out of state applications will NOT be accepted.

• - Perform telephone triage for patients calling their provider with certain symptomology.
• - Demonstrates the ability to use the nursing process to collect data. Requires interview/communication skills, critical thinking and problem solving skills to level of licensure.
• - Ability to work within protocols approved by CHI Health to provide information to patients and consumers.
• - Accepts inbound calls from patients, pharmacies and other healthcare entities.
• - Performs outbound calls to notify patients of reviewed lab and imaging results according to protocols that require review of the patient chart to answer questions.
• - Acts as a consumer advocate by resolution of problems or communication of consumer needs and concerns to appropriate resources.
• - Ability to follow medication refill protocols and act accordingly to those protocols.
• - Achieve established benchmarks for quality by ensuring accuracy with patient accounts elements and standards for nursing documentation.
• - Ability to adhere to workforce established schedules in order to promote and facilitate call center metrics.

Job Requirements

Required:

• - Current Registered Nurse (RN) license that allows you to practice in our state
• - Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• - Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required
