Leeward Renewable Energy is seeking a Congestion Trader to model, price, and trade congestion opportunities across ISOs, supporting risk-mitigating strategies and revenue optimization. The role collaborates with the Manager of Congestion and Market Analytics and trades daily in multiple markets.
The position requires 3–5 years on a congestion or energy market team, strong data skills, and experience with transmission models and analytics tools. Hybrid in-office role in the US.

The Congestion Trader (L24) will support/conduct modeling transmission systems and pricing congestion risk across Leeward's portfolio. Working with the Manager of Congestion and Market Analytics, Power Traders, and Director of Portfolio Management, the Trader will help implement and execute transactions developed/identified as part of the LRE Congestion Plan and identify/execute complimentary trading opportunities. They will maintain congestion models and data, identify and execute risk mitigation strategies using Virtual and FTR/TCC/CRRs, and lead market intelligence efforts across PJM, ERCOT, MISO, and CAISO. Proficiency in power flow modeling and contributing to quarterly Board reporting is essential.
This is an in-office role, requiring on site presence in our office a minimum of three days per week with hybrid flexibility of working remotely two days per week, subject to manager and policy approval. #LIHybrid
Physical Demands: This position will travel 10% of time. Position will require sitting for long periods of time as well as occasionally lifting up to twenty-pound boxes. #LIHybrid
