Job summary

BNSF Railway is looking for a Conductor Trainee in Dilworth, MN to join a safety‑focused, on‑call crew. You will learn rail operations, signals, and train movements while supporting daily freight movement across the network.

Training is company‑paid, on‑the‑job and classroom based, with travel to the training center in Overland Park, KS. Entry pay is about $259.65 per day, averaging $70k–$82k per year.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work now and in the future without BNSF sponsorship.
• Must be 18 years or older by the start date.
• Able to report for duty at the designated work location.
• Able to work the above shift, hours, and travel requirements.
• Able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.
• Willing to work in a safety-sensitive environment including extreme weather.
• Willing to comply with safety rules and PPE.

Responsibilities

• Obtain, receive, and act on information through various devices and report daily work.
• Operate track switches, derails, and monitor switch alignment.
• Inspect trains and equipment, and report conditions per federal regulations.
• Work in varied weather, around loud noises, and on uneven surfaces.
• Communicate effectively to ensure safe train movements.
