Job summary

BNSF Railway is seeking Conductor Trainees in Dilworth, MN to support safe, efficient freight movement across the network. The role involves learning train operations, applying safety protocols, and contributing to overall efficiency.

This full-time position requires on-call availability 24/7, nights, weekends, and holidays, with training at BNSF centers and potential relocation constraints. Travel within the designated region may be necessary.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Ability to work in a safety sensitive environment and adhere to safety protocols.
• Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds and work in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Obtain, receive, and act on information via various devices; monitor and report daily work.
• Operate track switches and derails to change train routing; check switch points for proper alignment.
• Perform train and equipment inspections, switch/spot cars, and inspect for federal compliance.
• Work in a safety sensitive environment under extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, sleet).
• Follow safety policies, wear PPE, and respond to emergencies as required.
