Job summary

Century Concrete, Inc., a CRH company, is seeking a Concrete Quality Control Field Technician in Overland Park, KS to perform ASTM-standard tests on concrete and raw materials and advise customers on mix designs and specifications. You will work under the Technical Services Manager to ensure the highest quality products and safety on site.

Two years’ QC testing and mix design experience are preferred, with ACI Field-Testing Technician certification highly desired.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years’ experience in concrete quality control testing and mix design preferred.
• ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician certification highly preferred. Additional certifications in Aggregate Testing and Hardened Properties a plus.
• Proficient in ASTM and ACI testing procedures; able to calibrate equipment and analyze results.

Responsibilities

• Conduct seven ASTM tests on plastic concrete samples including slump, air, yield, temperature, moisture, and related analyses.
• Lead and instruct batch plant teams in scheduled testing and quality procedures.
• Deliver exceptional customer service by resolving inquiries and issues professionally.
• Collect and sieve rock and sand samples to maintain high quality standards.
• Manage and deliver test cylinders between batch plants and the lab.
• Ensure compliance with ASTM specifications and ACI standards in testing and reporting.
• Keep laboratory equipment calibrated and in optimal condition.
• Document and report test results with accurate project records.
• Conduct safety training, including slump school for drivers and staff.
• Coordinate with batch plant teams to optimize concrete production.
