Job summary

Tex Mixconcrete in the Austin Division seeks a QC Field Technician to manage product quality and share concrete knowledge with staff and customers through hands-on testing and data reporting.

You will perform ongoing ACI and ASTM testing, educate plant personnel and ready-mix drivers on quality, verify utilization, and review data for consistency.

Strong communication and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Current, valid state driver’s license is required.
• Demonstrates effective communication skills (oral and written).
• Proficient in basic math including percentages and measurements.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to identify and solve problems.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Performs ongoing ACI & ASTM concrete and raw materials testing and enters data into spreadsheets or software.
• Evaluates existing quality or production standards and recommends modifications to upper management.
• Educates plant personnel on product quality, batching efficiency and Verifi utilization.
• Educates ready-mix drivers on product quality and Verifi utilization.
• Investigates and evaluates product anomalies at plants and jobsites.
• Advises management on product issues identified through technical support calls and inspections.
• Conducts audits and improves material handling procedures, batching and driver habits.
• Visits job sites, attends pre-pour meetings, calls on customers, collects market and job information, reviews Verifi data for product consistency.
• Advises and assists plant personnel on value-added products and temperature control methods.
• Assists in the laboratory with new product testing.
• Completes all required paperwork.
