Job summary

Franjo Builders is seeking a skilled Commercial Concrete Foreman in Homestead, PA. The successful candidate will supervise commercial concrete construction projects, ensuring adherence to safety standards and quality control while leading a framing crew.

Job description

The primary focus of the Commercial Concrete Foreman is to supervise and coordinate the maintenance, repairs, applications, and installations associated with company commercial concrete construction projects for foundations, columns, walls, slabs, and site work. This position is expected to work within a 90-mile radius of the city of Pittsburgh, and will be an employee of the Pittsburgh, PA office location.

Project Execution

• Read and interpret drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Ensure framing materials are installed per code, plans, and company standards.
• Coordinate equipment, tools, and material needs with the Superintendent.
• Monitor quality control and correct work issues promptly.

Safety & Compliance

• Enforce all company and OSHA safety requirements on-site.
• Conduct daily safety meetings, job hazard analyses, and inspections.
• Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Communication & Reporting

• Communicate progress, issues, delays, and needs to the Superintendent clearly and promptly.
• Track crew hours, material usage, and production quantities.
• Participate in project planning, look-ahead scheduling, and problem‑solving discussions.

Supervisory Responsibility & Communication Skills

• Lead and supervise framing crews on commercial construction job sites.
• Plan daily work activities, assign tasks, and monitor progress and productivity.
• Train, mentor, and develop crew members in proper framing techniques, safety practices, and equipment use.
• Maintain discipline, teamwork, and a respectful work environment.

Qualifications

Completion of an apprentice/vocational program or an equivalent combination of training/education.

Must be able to pass a 7 year background check. We also conduct pre‑employment drug testing. Job offers are contingent upon the successful completion of a background investigation and pre‑employment drug screen.
