Concrete Foreman
Responsibilities
Concrete & Field Operations
- Perform hands‑on concrete finishing, including placing, screeding, floating, troweling, edging, and finishing slabs, foundations, walls, and structural elements.
- Ensure concrete work meets project specifications, tolerances, and quality standards.
- Apply curing compounds, sealers, and surface treatments as required.
- Inspect finished surfaces for quality, durability, and appearance.
- Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and schedules.
- Lead, mentor, and coordinate concrete crews to meet daily production goals.
- Plan daily work activities and ensure proper manpower and equipment are in place.
- Communicate effectively with superintendents, project managers, inspectors, and other trades.
- Enforce jobsite safety standards and ensure crews work in compliance with company and OSHA requirements.
- Conduct daily safety briefings and participate in job hazard analysis (JHA) activities.
- Track material usage and manage concrete‑related inventory, tools, and equipment.
- Coordinate concrete pours, deliveries, and mix designs with vendors and project teams.
- Utilize tablets, smartphones, or other field technology for reports, timekeeping, plans, and documentation.
- Complete daily reports, production tracking, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
Qualifications
- Extensive hands‑on experience in concrete finishing and placement.
- Previous experience as a lead, foreman, or crew supervisor preferred.
- Strong ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage crews.
- Solid understanding of construction safety practices and quality control.
- Tech‑savvy with the ability to use mobile devices, apps, and digital plans.
- Willingness and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Reliable, detail‑oriented, and committed to craftsmanship and teamwork.
Work is performed outside in all types of environmental conditions. This position performs strenuous physical activity for long periods, under varying and adverse field conditions. This position must be able to lift, carry, stand, walk on uneven surfaces, manually manipulate, grasp, reach out and above the shoulder, climb, kneel, bend, twist, and push/pull.
