Job summary

Granite Construction is seeking a Cement Mason/Finisher to smooth and finish poured concrete floors, walls, sidewalks, or curbs. You will use floats, trowels, and screeds to achieve the requested textures and finishes.

The role requires careful measurement, mixing, and coordination with subgrade work and form setting. Physical stamina and the ability to follow precise procedures are essential, along with a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to visualize objects from drawings or diagrams.
• Ability to calculate concrete quantities for each job.
• Physical stamina to stand, bend, crawl, or kneel for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Spread concrete to depth and texture with floats to bring water to surface.
• Level, smooth, and shape surfaces using straightedge, float or power screed.
• Finish concrete with power trowel or by rubbing with abrasive stone.
• Remove rough spots using grinder or chisel and patch with concrete/epoxy.
• Mold expansion joints and edges with edging tools and jointers.
• Apply colored finishes or broom finish as specified.
• Mix cement using hoe or concrete mixer.
• Assist with subgrade work, forms, and related tasks.
