Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Cement Mason II to smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete floors, walls, sidewalks, or curbs using hand or power tools, floats, trowels, and screeds. You will spread concrete, level and finish surfaces, and repair defects while maintaining safety and efficiency on-site.

The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to procedures, and physical tasks including repetitive movements and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedures; knowledge of equipment and their uses; basic mathematical skills.
• Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, detail orientation, active listening, and effective communication.
• Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements; lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Spread concrete to specified depth and workable consistency
• Level, smooth, and shape surfaces of freshly poured concrete
• Finish concrete surfaces using power trowel or by hand
• Remove rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces
• Patch holes with fresh concrete or epoxy
• Mold expansion joints and edges
• Clean work area and restock supplies
• Build relationships with diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
• All other duties as assigned
