Job summary

Skillforce is seeking reliable concrete finishers/laborers for various steel erection projects in Clinton, IA. You will place, level, shape, and finish freshly poured concrete to meet required strength and appearance while performing related tasks.

The role requires physical work, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to read construction plans. Pay is $42.65/hr with potential overtime and varied schedules.

Qualifications

• Prior concrete finishing experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Prior experience in steel erection, concrete work, or carpentry is highly preferred.
• Regularly lifting over 50 pounds and working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work areas and concrete forms before the pour.
• Assist with placing and spreading freshly poured concrete.
• Operate hand and power tools such as screeds, bull floats, trowels, and edgers.
• Level and smooth concrete surfaces to the required grade and slope.
• Finish edges, joints, corners, and other detailed areas.
• Cut or install control and expansion joints.
• Apply curing compounds and other surface treatments as required.
• Monitor concrete consistency and finishing conditions during the pour.
• Repair imperfections, voids, cracks, and uneven areas.
• Read and follow construction plans, specifications, and elevations.
• Clean and maintain tools and equipment.
• Follow OSHA and job-site safety procedures, including proper PPE.
• Work with laborers, concrete workers, foremen, and other construction crews to complete pours efficiently.

Skillforce is currently searching for reliable and safety-oriented Concrete Finishers/Labor for various steel erection projects across the Clinton, IA area. As a concrete finisher/labor, you will play a vital role in placing , leveling , shaping, and finishing freshly poured concrete to achieve the required strength , appearance , and grade as well as other physical tasks.

The pay for this position is $42.65/hr.

Requirements in this Position:

• Prior concrete finishing experience
• Valid driver's license.
• MUST pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Prior experience in steel erection, concrete work, or carpentry is highly preferred
• Regularly lifting over 50 pounds, crouching, climbing ladders, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Work Hours vary: Monday through Friday 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM OR Monday through Thursday (4-10's) from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Both schedules have the option for overtime.
