Job summary

Gleeson Constructors & Engineers is hiring experienced Concrete Finishers and Concrete Carpenters for a large-scale food facility expansion in Boone, Iowa. The role focuses on concrete placement for industrial slabs and associated features, with an emphasis on precision, durability, and clean finishes for cold storage environments.

The position offers hourly pay of $25–$34 with overtime opportunities, and weekly payroll.

Qualifications

• Prior concrete finishing experience required.
• Experience with industrial/commercial projects preferred.
• Ability to maintain tight tolerances and finish quality in challenging environments.

Responsibilities

• Place, finish, and cure concrete for industrial slabs and foundations.
• Set and align forms for walls, curbs, and slabs.
• Screed, float, and finish concrete to specified tolerances and elevations.
• Cut joints and ensure proper curing methods.
• Work with crew to maintain quality, safety, and production goals.
• Assist with carpentry work when needed.

Gleeson Constructors & Engineers is hiring experienced Concrete Finishers | Concrete Carpenters for a large-scale food facility expansion in Boone, Iowa.

This is not typical flatwork. This project includes industrial freezer floors, dock slabs, and food-grade construction where precision, durability, and quality matter.

$ 25-34/hour DOE + Overtime Available

WHAT YOU’LL BE WORKING ON

• Freezer and dock slabs designed for heavy traffic and cold storage environments
• Concrete placed over insulation, vapor barriers, and glycol heat systems
• Floors requiring tight tolerances
• Curbs and protection systems for forklift traffic
• Food-grade construction with clean, durable finishes

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Place, finish, and cure concrete for industrial slabs and foundations
• Set and align forms for walls, curbs, and slab work
• Screed, float, and finish concrete to specified tolerances and elevations
• Cut joints and ensure proper curing methods
• Work with the crew to maintain quality, safety, and production goals
• Assist with carpentry work when needed

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Experience in commercial or industrial concrete (not just residential)
• Ability to finish large slabs with consistency and precision
• Understanding of flatness/levelness requirements
• Strong work ethic - shows up ready to work and be part of a team
• Ability to work in varied environments, including cooler conditions

REQUIREMENTS

• Prior concrete finishing experience required
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Follow all job site safety requirements
• Pre-employment drug screen and physical
