Job summary

NexGen Contracting, the self-perform arm of Gray, based in Franklin, TN, is seeking a skilled Concrete Estimator to join our growing team.

Responsibilities include reviewing RFPs, completing quantity take-offs, preparing cost estimates, soliciting bids, verifying scopes, and participating in bid reviews, pre-award and post-bid meetings. You will also assist the Senior Estimator and Preconstruction Manager as needed and must be able to travel up to 15%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management with 4 years of related experience.
• Minimum of 2 years cost estimating for large commercial self-perform concrete projects.
• Ability to travel up to 15% (in-state and out-of-state).
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, CMiC, Sage Estimating or Planswift is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and strong analytical skills.
• Effective planning, resource management and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Review RFPs to determine company interest.
• Complete quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
• Solicit bids from vendors.
• Verify scopes and bid levels.
• Prepare proposals and participate in bid reviews, pre-award and post-bid meetings.
• Assist Senior Estimator and Preconstruction Manager as needed.
• Conduct job walks to observe field conditions and bid implications.
• Negotiate bids to obtain competitive pricing.
• Assist with project turnover after award.
