Job summary

NexGen Contracting, a Gray Company, is seeking a Concrete Estimator to review RFPs, perform quantity take-offs, and prepare cost estimates for bidding on large commercial concrete projects.

The role involves soliciting bids from vendors, verifying scopes, and supporting pre-award activities and post-bid meetings. Travel up to 15% may be required; MS Office proficiency and familiarity with Procore/Bluebeam/CMiC are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management with related experience.
• At least 2 years cost estimating for large commercial self-perform concrete projects.
• Ability to travel up to 15%.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Procore/Bluebeam/CMiC a plus.
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work extended hours as required.

Responsibilities

• Review RFPs to determine company interest in pursuits.
• Complete quantity take-offs and cost estimate documentation.
• Solicit bids and proposals from vendors.
• Verify scopes and level bids from vendors and suppliers.
• Prepare proposals and participate in bid review and pre-award meetings.
• Assist with project turnover after award.
• Conduct job walks to observe field conditions affecting bids.
• Negotiate bids to obtain competitive pricing from vendors and suppliers.
• Support Senior Estimator and Preconstruction Manager as needed.
