Job summary

NexGen Contracting, the self-perform arm of Gray, is seeking a skilled Concrete Estimator to review RFPs, complete quantity take-offs, compile cost estimates, solicit bids, verify scopes, prepare proposals, and participate in bid reviews. This role requires supporting preconstruction and post‑bid activities.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Engineering or Construction Management with at least 2 years cost estimating for large commercial self-perform concrete projects, and is proficient

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management and 4 years of related experience.
• Minimum of 2 years cost estimating for large commercial self-perform concrete projects.
• Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Procore, Bluebeam, CMiC familiarity a plus.
• Sage Estimating and Planswift familiarity a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective planning and resource management skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities

Position Overview: NexGen Contracting is seeking a skilled Concrete Estimator responsible for reviewing RFPs, completing quantity take‑offs, compiling cost estimates, soliciting bids, verifying scopes, preparing proposals, and participating in bid review, pre‑award and post‑bid meetings. This role also involves assisting the Senior Estimator and Preconstruction Manager as required.

• Ability to work extended hours as required by project schedules or urgent circumstances.
• Must be able to travel up to 15% of the time (in‑state and out‑of‑state).
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, CMiC is a plus.
• Familiarity with Sage Estimating and Planswift is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective planning and resource management skills.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
