Job summary

NexGen Contracting, the self-perform arm of Gray Construction, is seeking a Chief Estimator to lead the bid process for concrete projects within the Concrete Division. You will develop detailed estimates for labor, equipment, and materials while coordinating with the Business Unit Leader and Safety/Quality teams.

The role requires deep knowledge of concrete processes, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple bids across sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management or 10+ years in construction with 5+ years in commercial concrete.
• Solid knowledge of concrete design principles and material specifications.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches and technical documents.
• Familiarity with local building codes and regulations.
• Proficient with estimation software used in concrete design and estimation.
• Experience with construction scheduling and related software.

Responsibilities

• Lead the bid process for estimating concrete projects within the Concrete Division.
• Maintain and update Building Connected bid invitations, vendor lists, and bid information.
• Travel to project sites for preconstruction and construction visits to ensure accurate cost estimation.
