Job summary

Rusin Concrete Construction is seeking an Estimator to prepare and submit concrete proposals for residential and commercial projects in Colorado Springs. You will work closely with preconstruction and management to interpret plans, assess quantities, and develop unit pricing.

You will analyze contractor and vendor quotes, draft bid qualifications, and maintain detailed estimate packages. The role requires strong Excel skills, communication, and deadline discipline.

Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Management preferred but not required.
• 3+ years related estimating experience.
• Experience estimating concrete projects highly preferred.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets and digitizing software; advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve, review, and organize bidding documents for residential projects.
• Interpret plans, specifications, and scope of work.
• Prepare quantity takeoffs for concrete, rebar, formwork, and materials using estimating software such as ProEst.
• Develop and adjust unit pricing based on scope, project type, and location.
• Incorporate subcontractor and vendor proposals and ensure bid alignment.
• Draft clarifications, inclusions, exclusions, assumptions, and bid qualifications.
• Collaborate with clients, engineers, and internal stakeholders to gather information.
• Review historical cost data and apply lessons learned to current estimates.
• Prepare complete estimate packages for use by Project Management and Field Operations.
• Participate in project handoff from preconstruction to operations.
• Maintain bid logs and tracking systems.
