Job summary

Rusin Concrete Construction in Colorado Springs is seeking a Commercial Project Engineer to manage preparation, tracking, and follow-through for project controls, procurement documents, and information under a supervising PM. Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field, or equivalent construction experience.
• Construction internship, project coordination, or field experience preferred; commercial concrete experience beneficial.
• Ability to read drawings and specifications and knowledge of reinforcing steel, post-tensioning, formwork, concrete mix designs, and sequencing.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, written and verbal communication, and ability to manage due dates across projects.
• Procore and Bluebeam experience preferred; ability to learn company workflows.
• Ability to own preparation and follow-through, maintain consistent processes, and elevate issues before delays.

Responsibilities

• Understand estimates, contract documents, scope, exclusions, and schedules; participate in turnover and planning with PM and field leadership.
• Review drawings/specs for completeness and constructability; prepare RFIs.
• Own RFIs, submittals, procurement, drawings revisions logs; track and follow up overdue items.
• Review reinforcing steel, post-tensioning, concrete mix design, formwork submittals; coordinate reviews and distribution.
• Maintain current drawings, specs, submittals, revisions in Procore; communicate changes to field teams.
• Prepare purchase orders and subcontracts with scope, quantities, pricing, and documents; route for review and approval.
• Track procurement through approvals, fabrication, delivery; ensure ready before work starts.
• Assist field leaders with interpretation of drawings; coordinate with PM and design team; no design changes without review.
• Collect quantities, labor, materials, and delivery tickets; support cost reviews and forecast prep; flag discrepancies.
• Assemble change quantities, pricing, photos, records; track signatures and backups for PM review.
• Maintain correspondence, minutes, action lists, inspection and testing records, and photos; elevate unresolved items.
