Job summary

Monocle Talent is seeking a Concrete Estimator to join a well-established commercial construction team in the United States. This role focuses on evaluating opportunities, developing accurate estimates, and positioning projects for success from plans to bids.

Responsibilities include reviewing drawings, creating quantity takeoffs, preparing competitive bids, and coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Commercial construction estimating experience, ideally with a concrete background.
• Strong understanding of drawings, specifications, and quantity takeoffs.
• Experience with PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar estimating software.
• Knowledge of construction costs, materials, labor, and bidding.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to understand scope.
• Complete quantity takeoffs and develop estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Prepare and submit competitive bids for commercial concrete projects.
• Solicit and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Identify scope gaps, potential risks, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Use PlanSwift, Bluebeam, and Excel throughout the estimating process.
• Attend site visits when needed to better understand project conditions.
• Work closely with clients, contractors, vendors, and internal project teams.
• Manage multiple estimates and deadlines at various stages of the bidding process.
