Job summary

Rusin Concrete is seeking an experienced Commercial Estimator to join our Colorado Springs team. You will work closely with the Preconstruction Manager to prepare, evaluate, and submit concrete proposals for new projects, communicating with clients, vendors, and estimators to win work.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of estimating experience, a background in construction management preferred, and strong skills in plan interpretation, Excel, and ProEst.

Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Management preferred but not required.
• 3+ years of related estimating experience.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets and Excel.
• Experience negotiating with clients and vendors.
• Strong written and verbal communication; organized.
• Ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Review bidding documents for residential projects.
• Interpret project documents, specs, and scope of work.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for concrete, rebar, formwork, and more using ProEst.
• Develop and adjust unit pricing considering scope, location, labor, materials.
• Incorporate subcontractor/vendor proposals into estimates.
• Draft clarifications and bid qualifications for proposals.
• Collaborate with clients, engineers, architects, and internal stakeholders.
• Review historical cost data to improve accuracy.
• Prepare complete estimate packages for project management and field ops.
• Participate in project handoff from preconstruction to operations.
• Maintain bid logs and tracking systems.
• Coordinate estimate reviews and approvals and meet deadlines.
