Job summary

Wheeler Services Inc. is seeking a Concrete Estimator to prepare cost estimates for construction projects and assist management with bidding and pricing decisions.

This role involves reading drawings, evaluating material and labor requirements, and maintaining estimator calendars. The ideal candidate will have a BS in Engineering/Construction, 2 years of estimating experience preferred, and proficiency in Excel, Bluebeam, and Word.

Qualifications

• +Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering/Construction or equivalent.
• +Two years of construction estimating experience preferred.
• +Reading construction drawings.
• +Proficiency with Excel, Bluebeam, Word.
• +Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management.
• +Able to multitask and meet strict deadlines.
• +Using mathematics to solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Performs quantity take-offs, organizes, and prices information.
• Reviews material and labor requirements.
• Reads and understands contract documents (plans, specifications & addenda).
• Prepares and maintains a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Reviews construction documents and understands scope of work to bid.
• Organizes documents relating to construction projects.
• Reviews ITBs and maintains estimating calendar.
• Prepares cost estimates.
• Estimate prices on change orders on existing contracts.

Your best fit for this position

The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing cost estimates for construction projects, or services to aid management in bidding on or determining price of product or service. May specialize according to particular service performed.

Your daily challenges and goals

What do you need to succeed in this Role?
