SAIC in Springfield, VA seeks a COMSEC Database Management Engineer to own cryptographic accountability data and lead the replacement of the legacy CMCS. The role blends data architecture with secure, auditable data migration across systems that generate COMSEC events and personnel onboarding/offboarding workflows.

You will design a next-generation CMCS data model, implement tiered access, and build APIs with CI-driven migrations.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline; 9 years' experience, or Masters with 7 years; substitutions allowed.
• 5 years of database engineering or development experience.
• Relational data modeling for transactional systems of record, with audit trails.
• Production DBA experience on Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL including backup/recovery and HA.
• Advanced SQL and stored procedure development; one language for data services/automation.
• Experience building system-to-system interfaces (API, message-based, ETL) with error handling.
• Legacy data migration experience: profiling, transformation rules, and parity proof.

Responsabilidades

• Operate the current CMCS database and application in production: availability, backup and recovery, performance tuning, patching, and release deployment.
• Design the Next-Generation CMCS data model: inventory, accounts, custodians, and hand receipts with chain-of-custody history.
• Build a tiered architecture separating data by classification and audience with row-level access controls.
• Implement an append-only audit architecture with actor, timestamp, and source for every event.
• Develop database services and APIs, version-controlled with CI-driven schema migrations.
• Integrate CMCS with systems generating COMSEC events and onboarding/offboarding processes.
• Migrate legacy records: profile, transform rules, and reconcile parity before cutover.
• Provide Tier II/III support resolving data errors, failed transactions, and discrepancies.
